Mississippi Regional Director/Alabama State Director

Trent is a Master’s level Occupational Therapist with over four years’ experience providing direct therapy services to clients within long term care, acute hospital, and outpatient markets. A professional with a heart to help others reach their goals and lead the life they want, Trent focuses on individual patient goals within the occupational therapy framework and inspires his clients and collaborators along the way. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in September of 2012 with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy after receiving an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from East Mississippi Community College in June of 2009. 

Trent first began with The Summit as a Director of Rehab in a skilled nursing facility, providing oversight for the daily operations of the rehabilitation department which included configuring staffing models, utilization review of necessary resources, and management of PPS and RUGs. Additionally, Trent was required to provide multi-disciplinary care coordination of patients, the establishment and maintenance of relationships with other health care professionals throughout the facility, and providing evidence based patient treatment of the geriatric population. 

Trent was the recipient of Director of Rehab of the Year in 2015, a prestigious award amongst The Summit Rehab’s employees, and was promoted to the Regional Director position in December of 2015.  Trent was instrumental in the ICD-10 transition and provided continuing education on this subject to practitioners across three states.  Trent oversees and manages the delivery of therapy services in Alabama and Mississippi and excels in therapy program oversight in long term care facilities, acute hospitals/swingbed programs, school systems, and outpatient therapy departments.
